BETI O LANSANFFRAID. AKA - "Betty of Llansanffraid." Welsh, Slip Jig (9/8 time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This traditional tune is from the Welsh manuscripts of harper Thomas David Llewelyn (1828-79). Llewelyn was the official harpist to the Williams family of Aberpergwm, in the valley of the river Neath, and to lord Aberdare. At the Llangollen national eisteddfod, 1858, he won the prize for the best collection of unpublished Welsh airs (edited and issued by Robin Huw Bowen in 1990) Similar to "Hot Mutton Pies" and "Night before Larry was Stretched (The)."
