BLACK HILLS WALTZ. American, Waltz (3/4 time). USA, Arizona. A Major. AEae tuning (fiddle). AB (Silberberg): AABB (Shumway). Snowflake, Arizona, fiddler Kenner Kartchner (1886-1970) said, "it goes at least back to 1890." There was a "Black Hills Waltz" composed in 1877 by H.R. Marcyes, but it is a different melody than Kartchner's "Black Hills Waltz."
