BLOOMING HEDGES. English, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Blooming Hedges" can be found in the mid-19th century music manuscript of William Winter (1774-1861), a shoemaker and violin player who lived in West Bagborough in Somerset, southwest England. "Blooming Hedges" was also entered into the c. 1790 music manuscript collection (p. 82B) of London banker and musician biography:Thomas Hammersley.

The first strain is similar to that of "Kitty Fisher", although set in triple time rather than duple time.
