BOB JORDAN. AKA - "Robert Jordan." Irish, Air (cut time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Belfast collector Edward Bunting attributed the tune to harper Carolan, and opined: "The only tune composed by Carolan in the style of O'Caghen, wanting 4th." 'O'Caghen' is the famous ancient harper Rory Dall Ó Catháin [1].
Donal O'Sullivan (1958) stated that, while there were Jordauns in County Mayo during Carolan's era, he could find no reference to a Robert Jordan.
Source for notated version: transcribed from the playing of elderly harper Charles Fanning [Bunting].
