BROOSOM HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Hornpipe made in Lancashire (A)." English, Triple Hornpipe (3/2 time). A Mixolydian/Dorian. ADae (Marsden) or AEae (Offord) tuning (fiddle). ABCDEFGHI. "Broosom Hornpipe" was first printed in Thomas Marsden's Collection of Original Lancashire Hornpipes, Old and New, printed in London in 1705 by Henry Playford and sold in his shop. London music publisher Daniel Wright printed a version of the hornpipe as "Hornpipe made in Lancashire (A)" around the year 1713. Note that Marsden specified scordatura tuning (AEae) for the fiddle.
