Sheet Music for "Bumblebee in a Jug [2]"Bumblebee in a Jug [2]ReelQuickNotes: From the playing of Alfred Bailey (1918-1996, FlemingCounty, northeast Ky.), recorded in the field in 1986 by John Harrod.

BUMBLEBEE IN A JUG [2]. American, Reel (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABC. This version of "Bumblebee in a Jug" is from the playing of Flemingsburg, Fleming County, northeast Kentucky fiddler Alfred Bailey (1918-1996), and is unlike his friend George Lee Hawkins' "Bumblebee in the Jug (1)." Bailey attempts at conveying the image of a trapped bumblebee by using saw strokes for each eighth note in the reel, conveying the buzzing of wings, and by the use of some occasional flattened 'e' or 'd#' notes on the e string unison notes.
