BUTTONS OFF. American, Sand Jig (2/4 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. A 'sand jig' is a duple-time, syncopated dance tune akin to a schottische, meant as a vehicle for solo dancing. The term comes from the practice of sanding the floor to facilitate shuffling steps in a dance.
