CELBRIDGE ABBEY. English(?), Reel (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Celbridge Abbey is a manor in Celbridge, County Kildare in Ireland. It was built in 1697 by Bartholomew Van Homrigh, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, but is most famous as the home of his daughter, Esther Vanhomrigh, (1688–1723), the inspiration for 'Vanessa' in Dean Swift's poem "Cadenus and Vanessa" (1713). Later, it was the home of Irish patriot and politician Henry Grattan (1746–1821).
