CLOUDS OF THE EVENING. Canadian, Reel (whole time). Canada, New Brunswick. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'CDD. Peter Corfield notes the tune "was a commonly known piece in the [lumber] camps. The tune is sourced to fiddler Harold O'Donnell who was born at Millstream, New Brunswick, in 1925, who learned to play at age seven. He worked in the Canadian woods trades for many years before returning to live New Brunswick where he raised his musical family. O'Donnell was the member of the bands Northern Lights and Country Clover, that played at venues in the southern part of the province in the mid-20th century, and was a champion at New Brunswick fiddle contests.
