COLEMAN'S FAVORITE [2]. AKA and see "Coleman's Slip Jig (1)," "Promenade (1) (The)." Irish, Slip Jig (9/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is sourced to County Sligo fiddler Michael Gorman, a contemporary of renowned County Slipo fiddler Michael Coleman. Coleman emigrated to New York, while Gorman moved to London where he was a seminal figure in the Irish music scene of that city. However, while Coleman prolifically recorded, Gorman remained in obscurity until rising to fame later in life.
