Irish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune listed as having been commonly played at Orange County, New York country dances in the 1930's (Lettie Osborn. New York Folklore Quarterly, pp. 211-215). O'Neill's "Miss Thornton’s Reel" is a similar setting. A close variant of the tune was entered as an untitled reel into Book 2 (No. 203) of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim fiddler and piper biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894).
