"Dennis Crowther's No. 3" is a member of a tune family whose members have been variously described as polkas, schottisches, reels, and barn dances. The family appears to be descended from a composition called "Moldavian Schottische" from "pop" classical composer wikipedia:Louis-Antoine_Jullien (1812-1860). Derivatives and descendants of the tune can be found in Orkney as "Old Polka (The)" and "Jimmy o' the Bu's Polka", and in Britain as "Beatrice Hill's Three Handed Reel" and Charlie Batchelor's "George Parkin's Schottische."
