DESERTER, THE. AKA and see "Bold Deserter (The)." Irish, Air (2/4 time). Ireland, County Carlow. E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Petrie's tune is the essentially the same as O'Neill's Bold Deserter (The)." It is a different tune than "I'm Sadly Thinking," which is sometimes called "The Deserter" or "The Deserter's Meditation."
