DOMINIE'S DELIGHT, THE (Drumoak). Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "The Dominie's Delight" was composed by J. Scott Skinner and his elder brother, Alexander "Sandy" Skinner, both exceptional violinists and dancing masters. A dominie is a headmaster, while Drumoak was a parish partly in Kincardine, but chiefly in Aberdeenshire. A school opened in the village in 1873.
