DON QUICKSOT. AKA - "Don Quickset." English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major (Thompson): D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was first published by Charles and Samuel Thompson in their Compleat Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 4 (1780, p. 27) as "Don Quicksot." The tune also appears in the c. 18020 music copybook of Dorset musician, farmer and alehouse keeper Benjamin Rose as "Don Quixote."
