DOCTOR GORDON STABLES' REEL. Scottish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by the great Scots fiddler-composer J. Scott Skinner (1843–1927). It is dedicated perhaps to the same Dr. Gordon Stables who was a veterinary doctor and a dog enthusiast. In 1875, in his Practical Kennel Guide he wrote: The Collie Dog – the honest Highland Collie – is the King of the canine race. I don't think there is a doubt about that.
