DUNNIKiER HOUSE. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle) AABB. "Dunnikier House" was composed by biography:James Walker (1771-1840), a musician, fiddler-composer, and music teacher of Dysart, Fife, Scotland. Dunnikeer House, Kirkaldy, was the former estate of James Townsend Oswald (1748-1814), a wealthy merchant and politician. The house was built 1791-93 by Edinburgh-based architect Alexander Laing (d.1823). The house itself survives today, converted in the 1970's to a hotel, but the surrounding parks and grounds have been developed and repurposed.
