DYSART HOUSE STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Dysart House" was composed by fiddler-composer, musician, and music teacher biography:James Walker (1771-1840) of Dysart, Fife, Scotland. Dysart House, which overlooks the harbor, was built in 1755-56 for General James St. Clair, soldier and Member of Parliament, probably to a design by the Adam brothers (who also supplied the chimney pieces). It later passed to the Earl of Rossyln. The Erskine St. Clair family were the dedicatee's of both of Walker's collections, and his primary patrons.
