EAST AT GLENDART (An Oir Air Gleanndearta). AKA - "East of Glendart." AKA and see "Custom House (The)," "Darby Gallagher's (1)," "Housemaid (1) (The)," "Humors of Glendart," "Humors of Glendart," "Julia Clifford's," "Saddle the Pony (6)," "Shins around the Fireside (2)," "Tim the Piper." Irish, Double Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Glandart is near compiler Captain Francis O'Neill's birthplace of Tralibane, west Cork. The tune is usually known nowadays as "Humors of Glendart." 19th century County Cork cleric and uilleann piper James Goodman entered the tune in his large music manuscript collection as "Housemaid (1) (The)." Donegal fiddler Hugh Gillespie (1906-1986) recorded the tune in the 78 RPM era under the title of "Finley's." Compare also with Goodman's "North Road to Tralee (The)."
