FASQUE HOUSE. Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Fasque House or Fasque Castle is a manor and estate in Fettercairn, in the old county of Kncardineshire. It was the seat of the Ramsays of Balmain, and in Archibald Duff's time was the home of Sir Alexander Ramsay (1715-1806), 6th Baronet of Balmain, also known as Alexander Ramsay-Irvine, a one-time member of Parliament. He planted avenues of beech trees on the estate which survive today, although Fasque Hou was rebuilt after his time.
