"Le Gadeliderot" was composed by flute player, researcher and academic Jean Duval, who dedicated it to fiddler Richard Forrest. The title is a play on words that refers to Forrest's then employment at Hydro-Quebec, i.e. "Le gars de l'hydro" ('the guy at the hydro') = gadeliderot.
