GALWAY TOM [1] (Tomas Ua Gaillim). Irish, Double Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is of a family that make up the four-part session warhorse jig "Lark in the Morning (1)." The first and second parts of "Galway Tom [1]" correspond to the first and third parts of "Lark." See also other tune in the family, more or less related to "Galway Tom [1]" but all related to "Lark": "Galway Town," "Galloway Tom (2)," "Buachaillin Bui (An)/Bouchaleen Bui (An)," "Spotted Cow (The)," "Come in the Evening," "Kelso Races," "Welcome (The)," "Western Lilt (A)," "Goats' Horn (The)," "Goats' Horns (The)," "Thrush's Nest (The)," and "Little Yellow Boy (The)."

Additional notes
Source for notated version : - "Fielding" [O'Neill]. The Rev. James K. Fielding was a Chicago priest, originally from Mooncoin, County Kilkenny, born in the mid-1960's. He played the flute and was an enthusiastic supporter of Irish traditions in Chicago.
