GENERAL LONGSTREET'S [2]. American, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Despite some similarity with Frank Livingston's "General Longstreet's (1)", the tunes are not cognate. Confederate General James Longstreet was originally from South Carolina, as was fiddler Vernon Riddle (1935-2011, born in the upstate South Carolina mill village of Glendale).
