GIGUE THENFANT ALLARD.  AKA and see "Captain Jinks".  French-Canadian, Jig (6/8 time).  D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B.  "Gigue Thenfant Allard" is from the repertoire of fiddler Joseph Allard (1873-1947), who recorded a version as "[[Reel des violoneux]]." The title "Thenfant Allard" refers to Joseph Allard's father, Tenfant Allard, from whom Allard had part of his repertory.  The tune is a fairly faithful version of the air to the American comic song "Captain Jinks of the Horse Marines".
