AAB. biography:William Christie (1778-1849), a postman, song collector, dancing master and fiddler-composer from Cuminestown, Aberdeenshire, included "Ha'd the Cradle Rockin" in his 1820 collection. Christie often recorded his source for older tunes in his collection, but on this one he is silent.
