HAMPTON MARCH. American, March (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Hampton March" was printed in two publications from Exeter, N.H.; David Hazeline's Instructor in Martial Music (1810), and the three editions of Avan Robinson Jr.'s Massachusetts Collection of Martial Musick (1818, 1820, 1826). The tune is undoubtedly named for the nearby seacoast town of Hampton, New Hampshire.
