"Heart of My Kitty for Me (The)," similarly titled, appears as a song in O'Neill's Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody (65), obtained from the music manuscript collection of Henry Hudson, a Dublin dentist and early music collector. Hudson himself had the air from a resident of County Louth, Mrs. Baron, who recollected it from (her spouse?) John Barton. The title also comes from County Monaghan, collected and printed by P.W. Joyce in Old Irish Folk Music and Songs (1909).
