HOLYWELL HORNPIPE [2]. English, Hornpipe. England; Yorkshire, Shropshire, East Anglia. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was also contained in the James Blackshaw manuscriot, c. 1837, from north Shropshire, as well that of his contemporary, fiddler Lawrence Ledley of Yorkshire. East Anglian musician William Clarke (Feltwell) entered a version into his mid-19th century music manuscript collection as an untitled hornpipe (No. 171).
