Levey in his second collection of Irish tunes (1873, No. 119) under the title "How are you now Kitty?." A untitled version of the jig was entered into Book 3 of the music manuscript collection of County Leitrim piper and fiddler biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894). Francis O'Neill gave his version the title "O'Shanahan's Rambles" in Dance Music of Ireland (1907), and Frank Roche printed it as "Shanahans' Rambles."
