The song air "I've something else to do" was entered in the music copybook of Welsh fiddler John Thomas, dated, 1752. It also is contained in musician Jeremiah Regan's (Bandon, Ireland) music copybook of 1764-65, and in the 1772 commonplace book of Samuel Hudson/Nicholas Cook (Johnston, Rhode Island).
