I LOVE THAT I DID LOVE. AKA and see "Now ponder well ye parents dear," "Children in the Wood (The)." English, Air (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Kines (1964) says that Jackson gives the song and what may be the original air, but that the poem, attributed to Thomas Lord Vaux and published in 1557, has been traditionally sung to the tune "Now ponder well ye parents dear" or "Children in the Wood (The)." A garbled version of the poem appears in a gravedigger's song in Shakespeare's Hamlet (act V, scene 1).
