IRISHMAN'S BLACKTHORN, THE (Maide Draighin an Éireannaigh). AKA and see "Eel in the Sink (The)," "Hills of Kesh (The)." AKA - "Blackthorn (2) (The)." Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Michael Ryan's tune was collected without a title; Johnny Henry supplied Breathnach with the name. The first recorded appearance of the tune under this title (or any other titles, for that matter) was by melodeon player Peter J. Conlon, in 1921. See also the related "Scotch Hunt (2)."
