JEMMY JOHNSON'S WHERRY. AKA - "Jemmy Johnson's Whurry." English, Air (2/4 time). England, Northumberland. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. The song [Roud 3061] (tune with one stanza) appears in the c. 1812 music manuscript collection of Northumbrian musician John Bell (1783-1864), but was written by Thomas Thompson (d. 1816) and published in Newcastle chapbooks and later Northumbrian song collections.

So with some very canny chields its on the hop an merry,
Aw thought aw'd make a vayage to Shields in Jemmy Johnson's Wherry.
