JENNY PUT THE KETTLE ON [4]. American, Reel (cut time). USA, Kentucky. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This appears to be quite distanced from other "Jenny Put the Kettle On" tunes, which often, more or less, have melodic material derived from the tune that is better-known as "Molly (or Polly) Put the Kettle On." It is only at the end of the second of Wallace's tune that there is any hint of resemblance.

Source for notated version: - Gusty Wallace (1890-1985, in Hart County, but lived nearly all his life in Sulpher Well, Metcalf County, Ky., 1974) [Titon]. Recorded in the field by Bruce Greene, who had a number of tunes from him. Wallace's father, Addison, was also a regionally renowned fiddler.
