KEEP IT UP [1] (As a Thòiseach). AKA and see "As a Thòiseach," "Contradiction Reel (2) (The)." Scottish, Pipe Reel. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Fraser): AAB (Hardie, Köhler, Lowe). The tune is subtitled "Be Off MacIntosh!," and is credited to Captain Simon Fraser by MacDonald in the Skye Collection (1887). See note under "Talk:As a Thòiseach." The piece is played un-slurred, with a distinct bow stroke for each note. It has some popularity among Cape Breton musicians. The reel is included in a section of "Irish Reels" in Köhlers’ Violin Repository Book 1 (1881), presumably placed there by the editor, W.B. Laybourn (the anonymous "A Professional Player" of the title page).
