KELLY THE RAKE (Ua Ceallaig an Racaire). AKA and see "Moll in the Wad (1) (The)," "Tipsy Sailor (3) (The)." Irish, Double Jig (6/8 time). G Major ('A' part) & G Minor ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. A nearly identical tune to "Moll in the Wad (1) (The)" in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883). "Kelly the Rake" is probably a title by Francis O'Neill, who was well aware of the earlier "Moll in the Wad" tune published by piper O'Farrell in the beginning of the 19th century. Ryan's "Moll in the Wad" is a completely different tune, and rather than have two tunes with the same title, O'Neill opted to change Ryan's title.
