LADY BELHAVEN'S DELIGHT. Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune is a jig setting of William Marshall's strathspey "<incipit title="load:wishaw" width=850 link="https://tunearch.org/wiki/Mrs. Hamilton of Wishaw’s Strathspey">Mrs. Hamilton of Wishaw’s Strathspey</incipit>." Strathspeys can fairly easily be rendered as jigs by converting each duple time bar into two 6/8 bars. It is curious, remarks Emmerson (1971), that there is little mention of such transformations in Scottish musical literature.
