LADY HELEN WEDDERBURN. AKA and see "Haggis (The)." Scottish, Reel (whole or cut time). D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Lady Helen Wedderburn" is Duncan McKercher's renaming of Capt. Simon Fraser's "Haggis (The)", published in 1816, eight years prior to McKercher's collection.

Lady Helen Wedderburn (1798-1868) was the youngest daughter of Walter Ogilvy, the 5th Earl of Airlie. She married John Wedderburn at Airlie Castle, County Forfar, 30 April 1823, and died at Rosebauk, Roslin, in 1868 (buried at Roslin Chapel). The couple had three sons and one daughter.
