Appearance
LADY LOMON'S. AKA and see "Belles of Campbelltown," "Blind Nora O'Neill," "Blind Norry's," "Lady Loudon," "Mrs. Parker's Fancy." Scottish, Strathspey (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The title is a miss-hearing or corruption of Edinburgh bandleader William Gow's original title of "Lady Loudon," composed in the 1780's. There are several such title corruptions in Elias Howe's Musician's Omnibus Nos. 6 & 7; for example, "The Miller of Drone" is printed as "Miller of Derone." Versions of the tune were also printed around the same time by Howe's employee in the Boston music publishing firm, William Bradbury Ryan, under titles "Blind Nora O'Neill/Blind Norry's" and "Belles of Campbelltown.
