LADY IN THE DARK. English, Country Dance Tune (6/8 time). G Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA. The tune dates to 1657 when it was published in London by John Playford (1623-1686) in the Third Edition of The Dancing Master [1] (p. 120). The tune was retained in subsequent editions, through the Eighth Edition of 1690 (published by son Henry Playford), after which it was dropped from the series.
