Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was also published by Northumbrian smallpiper John Peacock, in six sets of variantions; Matt Seattle finds that John Bell's [1] (1783-1864) two-strain version corresponds to Peacock's first and fourth strains. Ryton [2] is a small town near the border of Tyne and Wear, in the north of England, once part of the old County Durham.
