LAME FISHERMAN, THE (An Iasgaire Bacac). AKA and see "Emlagation Reel," "Girl with the Laughing Eyes (The)," "Paddy Killoran's (1)," "Sweeney's Dream." Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (O'Neill/1850): AABB (O'Neill/Krassen). The reel was recorded under the title "Sweeney's Dream" by the fiddle duo of Paddy Killoran and Paddy Sweeney in 1937 in New York. Killoran later played the tune as "Emlagation Reel" (a reference to his native townland, Emlaghgissan) for an RTÉ Radio broadcast in a medley with "Old Dudeen (The)" and "On the Road to Lurgan." The tune is associated with Killoran's playing, but it predates him and was published in 1903 by Francis O'Neill as "Girl with the Laughing Eyes (The).
