LEPRECHAUN'S JIG, THE. AKA and see "Dermot Grogan's Jig," "Luachrachán (The)," "Port an Lorgadáin." Irish, Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Attributed to County Clare fiddler Junior Crehan [1] (1908-1998), who first played the tune in the late 1950's/early 1960's. It may or may not be his composition. Paul de Grae points out that in County Kerry and Clare a legrechaun is called a lorgadán (pronounced lurragadawn), thus the Irish title would be "Port an Lorgadáin".
