LITTLE BLACK ROSE [2], THE (An Róisín Dub). AKA and see "Margaret Roche (1)." Irish, Air (3/4 time, "tenderly"). C Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Paul de Grae finds that O'Neill's version is identical to that published by Henry Hudson in The Dublin Monthly Magazine (April, 1842), which Hudson obtained from his friend Edward O'Reilly. See also Bunting's two settings of "Black Rose Bud," which have some similarities.
