LITTLE SKIRMISH. English, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears to be unique (in publication history) to Glasgow publisher James Aird's Selection, vol. 2 (1785). It was also entered into the large 1840 music manuscript collection of multi-instrumentalist John Rook, of Waverton, Cumbria.
