LORD CORNWALLIS' MARCH. AKA - "Lord Cornwallis's March." English, March (4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The march appears in a few period (i.e. beginning of the 19th century) publications and musicians' manuscripts, including Thomas Ball's Gentleman's Amusement Book 1 (Norfolk, c. 1815), Joshua Cushing's The Fifer's Companion No. 1 (Salem, Mass., 1805), and J. Wilson's Pocket Preceptor for the Fife (London, 1805-13). It seems to have been first published in London in 1795 on a single sheet by Bland & Weller as one of "Two Favorite New Marches."
