"Lord John Scott Strathspey" was composed by gamekeeper and fiddler-composer biography:John Crerar" for the youngest son of the 4th Duke Buccleuch. See also Crerar's tune for Scott's wife, Alica Ann Spottiswoode, "Lady John Scott to Binchat." She was a musician and songwriter who composed the song "Annie Laurie/Lawrie." Crerar researcher Eilidh Scammell believes Crerar composed the tunes when the pair visited wikipedia:John_Murray,_Duke_of_Atholl, Crerar's employer, and that they were probably among the last tunes he composed before his death, in 1840 when he was in his mid-80's.
