LOUISVILLE CLOG. American, Clog. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The composition is credited to one Frank Livingston in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883). Livingston (about whom nothing is known) contributed a number of melodies to Ryan's Mammoth Collection, nearly all on Southern themes. He may have been a journeyman composer of light or popular music, not unlike a few other contributors to Ryan's volume (published by the Elias Howe company of Boston, Massachusetts).
