This country dance tune first appeared in print as "Buona Figuiliola (La) (AKA "Lady Jean Murray's Dance") in a volume entitled Twenty Four American Country Dances published in London in 1785 by Longman & Broderip. The tune was entered as "Lady Barrymore's Fancy" in the key of 'D' in the mid-19th century music manuscript of William Winter (1774-1861), a shoemaker and violin player who lived in West Bagborough in Somerset, southwest England.
