"Major Ian Stewart" is the name of the Scottish Country Dance for which the indicated tune is "Scottish Horse (The)," composed by the Marchioness of Tullibardine. As often occurs, the tune is sometimes called by the name of the dance it is associated with. Major Ian Charles Stewart of Fasnacloich was the husband of the co-founder of the Royal Scottish County Dance Society and served with the Scottish Horse. Major Stewart died in December, 1948, aged 75.
